Ronnie Dove sent in the news that Gamestop has a new release date of August 3rd 2004 for Doom 3. If you go to that page however theres nothing to look at in regards to any official news and what your getting is a pre-order page. Meanwhile ign.com has an article up and they sayeth:While we're still waiting for an official announcement from Activision or id Software, it looks like the PC version of DOOM 3 has, at last, received a release date. Leading online retailers like GameStop and EBGames are now listing the title as shipping August 3, 2004. So we still don't have any official release date. I hope we do get the game in August and if we do I better start looking at more computer parts and shop around n stuff.... my old AMD 850 T-Bird just isn't gonna cut it.

He who calls himself jetflock sayeth:If any good legacy mappers are interested (check out both screenshot pages) let me know, I would like some creative people to make levels and bounce some ideas around with. I will be doing all artwork for the project. Mappers would speed up the process, I think I want to make it another 7 level episode like DooM ForeveR was. A small project, with most resources completed. The wad also contains new music, sounds, and a somewhat shiny dehacked patch. So that's the message. Pizza, Morrowind & Hellcore
Well it's Saturday night here and I spent part of it working on my Doom project, making pizza (from scratch... not those frozen things you only eat when desperate) and playing some Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Anyhow when it came to looking for some Doom news there wasn't anything anywheres until I hit the Hellcore site and noticed a rather small blurb DarkFyre posted about trying to collect news of development from the team. Expect to see some screenies and an update soon as DarkFyre finishes his map. Hopefully the Hellcore team members will wake up soon and report in. That's all for now. Might as well go back and work on my project now....

He's made some changes to the layout and hopes to have some new (and or improved) levels soon. Meanwhile jump onto his Wads Page and maybe check out some of his earlier releases. Sekkusu and Jenny2 are pretty nice levels that require the Doom Legacy port.

Human Head Seeks Animator For A Doom 3 Engine Game

Spork Sneaks In Anouther Review
Yesterday when I wasn't looking Agent Spork updated Doom Realm with a review of Nmn's Waste Site. Spork says he's slacking.... haahaa! Anyways Waste Site is a nukage type of tech place made for Doom II and requires a limit removing source port to play. This level is Nmn's first map release even though he's certainly not new to map design.... he's just not hasty like the rest of us level design freakazoids. Getcha self over to the Map Reviews section to find this latest review.

Doom Movie Switcheroo
Cinescape announced that Universal Pictures snatched up the film rights to the Doom movie after Warner Bros let it go.The same producers that tried to get the film greenlit at Warners remain on the project with Universal, namely Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and John Wells. What's changed is that the two men now have a finished script (by Dave Callaham), a new studio and a director attached (Enda McCallion in his directorial debut.) That's about all the info right there. Hit this page itself for the small article the quote was taken from. [Edit] PumpkinSmasher let us know that he noticed that HomeLan Fed got word from id Software's Todd Hollenshead on the current status of the Doom 3 movie rights which can be seen in this article. The movie rights have reverted to id, as Warner's option period expired. However, we remain a "free agent" at this time and multiple studios are interested in the project. The team of John Wells (ER, et. al.) and Lorenzo DiBonaventura (The Matrix, et. al.) that has been working on the project for over a year will remain affiliated with the DOOM movie. The studio question at this point primarily involves the financing.. So there you have all the latest Doom Movie news fiasco stuff...
Decade Released For ZDoom
Russell Pearson sent us the news that he's just finished and uploaded his latest ZDoom level entitled Decade which is his tribute to 10 years of Doom.
