Tormentor's Realm 667 has made an update concerning the introduction map to his latest new project. Here is a summery of things that have been done:

· All Heretic weapons have been converted and work (pickup sprites and ammo also; weapons can be used by 1-7 buttons on keyboard)
· Almost every single Heretic enemy has been converted (except D'Sparil)
· 4 of the new enemies are already in the game (just some sounds must be added) and 3 others are finished as sprites on my hd
· Doom pickups look now like the one in the Heretic/Hexen world (stimpack -> health vial; includes FLOATBOP)
Daniel has already put in a great deal of work on this and the ressource wad is almost finished. There is more to learn about this project on which you can found out about by clicking the link at the top of this item.

 Dooms, Dukes, Heretics, Oh My!
Posted by William 'Phoebus' Mull at 12:48 PM
Category: General

Jaakko 'skyJake' Keränen updated the DHQ site, touching on such topics as a new snapshot release, the recent Duke3D source release, and new hi-res textures for DOOM & Heretic:
After finding a few spare hours to work on the project, I managed to fix the problem where sound effects keep repeating when using the default DirectSound 8 sound code. I have posted a new snapshot. If you've experienced this problem and now use the -csd option, please let me know if sound effects in the snapshot don't work correctly without -csd.

Several people were kind enough to let me know that the Duke Nukem source code has been released. Many thanks to 3D Realms for making the right decision. :-) Perhaps I'll have enough time during the summer to see what I can make of the source, but Doomsday 2.0 will have a greater priority. Speaking of which, I must say that it hasn't seen much progress during the last few months. My plans for 2.0 are definitely solidifying, though; and you know what they say, a good design is half the work.

I was also informed (a week ago...) that there are some new high-resolution textures available for Doom II and Heretic, so if you're into textures, be sure to check them out.
As always, be sure to head to Doomsday HQ for more info.

We recieved an email today from Daniel Gimmer, who most of you will probably know as Tormentor, to say that Torment & Torture 3 has arrived. Here is what he had to say:
After a developement of almost three months, I proudly present you "Torment & Torture 3 : Fortress of Damnation". What do you have to expect? Amazing effects taking the advantage of all ZDoom 2.0 features, complete new enemies without overwriting original doom ones, 2 maps with astonishing atmosphere never seen in a pwad before, perfect fitting background music and therefore an impressive end in the TNT trilogy.
