Hellmouth Update
Team Mamtech have updated there Hellmouth Projects page with news that there are two new additions to the team in the shape of MoBro and Violentjay. The team have been having some meetings and The Heretic has managed to get a lot of the design work out the way.
Kaiser's Bit Of Information
DSV Outworld has had a change of address and can now be found by clicking on the nav bar on the left, or just click the link above. Don't forget to change those bookmarks. Also, there is news that DSV5 is now being planned for zDoom. Here is what Kaiser had to say about it:After I saw tutorials on cameras, slopes and stuff, I just couldn't resist making dsv5 zdoom compatible and try out all those features. He goes on to say that apart from that, he has been really busy with the Doom64 TC.
Send In The Wads
Doom Wad Review has update and John has been having some trouble getting Doom onto his computer which is the reason for the lack of reviews. Now though everything is okay and he is waitng for wads to review. So if you have one you would like reviewed then get over to Doom Wad Review.
Hellcore Still Here
Hellcore has updated just to let us now that the project is still alive. Although it is not progressing as quickly as tey had hoped. I just imported a few graphics today, and a few finished maps. Perhaps we'll finish this damn thing before Doom3!, which btw, is the plan. Lets hope so anyway :-)
Legacy 3D Contest
Well it is finally here. We have the results for the Legacy 3D Contest. The idea behind this was to make a Legacy level using the 3d floors feature.Well we had seven contestants in total and they were aiming for the prize of an original boxed version of Doom signed by John Romero who gets Our thanks for providing us with the prize.All the levels are also available for download so you can try them out for yourselves and you may find them at the Legacy 3D Contest.
X-Com DSO
X-Com Deep Space Operations has updated with screenshots galore. There is now the ability to crouch, thanks to coding by Jow.
Discharge Update
Discharge has 6 new reviews of DM levels for you. Rellik says that the next update will contain just one review as he will be adding them as he does them from now on. Reviewers are still needed so if you want to help out then head along and let it be known.
KDX Update
King Elvis has let us know of a new release of KDX. He says that this update is mandatory for all KDX users with the version numbers 4.1.0 to 4.2.100. The reason for this is that the KDX Masterserver will be turned off in a couple of days ! This is because KDX's multiplayer platform was never really finished and will be discontinued. I have removed all the online code from this latest KDX release to obtain a stable release.
New versions can be found in the download section of the King Doom Experience.
New Skulltag
Skulltag has a new version on the way, which will bring it up to v0.94c. This will fix all the tiny problems v0.94b, as well as fix some of the bigger problems. There are only a couple of things left to do, so hopefully it will not be long.
TNT3 & Screenshots
Tormentor's Realm 667 has updated again and Tormentor667 has uploaded screenshots for his X-Mas Deathmatch and Map01RemixesV2. There is also news that TNT3 is nearly finished and will soon be ready for beta testers. If you wish to be one of those testers then let him know via his forum.

X-Doom Changes Address
X-DOOM's site has changed address and now resides at....well it's still Newdoom but the address you will need is http://xdoom.newdoom.com/ . You will need you bookmark this as X-DOOM mentioned in a recent update that ZD3K will be released soon. Check out everything at X-Doom.
Tormentors Forum
A small update over at Tormentors Realm 667 just to say that he now has a forum. He is looking forward to being able to get feedback through this medium on his various levels and stuff.
Recess Round Up
The Doomers Recess is updated again with a whole load of interesting stuff. There has been a new review posted which is of Black Sunset by Rob "Fusion" Babor. There is also a story which is for newest creation Doom II "Helpyourselfish". The wad is not finished yet but you may read the story. Doom Wad Station
The Doom Wad Station has posted a review of Fragport by Stephen Clark. Here is a small description from the review:This wad features desert and mountain levels, and there are plenty of levels beside the sea. There are also city levels and hi-tech levels. Why
The Why homepage states that a new release is creeping closer. So to give you an idea of what you can expect in the new release there are three shots to show how Why makes complex architecture building as simple as 1 2 3.
Karthik Announces CCII
Karthik82.com has a Doom related update and Karthik has announced his latest level. This is a sequel to his 2002 release called Congestion Control, which was part of Chris Hansens great releases of 2002. There is a page set up for it with screenshots and you can check it out HERE.
Hairless Review
Sarge Baldy's Hardass Doom Reviews has posted a review of 'THE ABANDONED MINES II' which has been made by Torn for the Freedoom project. This is Torn's first map and it does not use the current version of the Freedoom graphics wad.
Metabolist's Reviews And Plutonia II
Metabolist's Site has been updated with two reviews of full DOOM episodes. These are 'No Hope For Life Episode 1' and '007 a license to spell doom'. There was also this about Plutonia II:I've got little work to do on Plutonia II (other people are doing that ;) so I've started to occupy myself by making some of the early CXN maps. I've not said much about this project in the past, but now it's starting to take some proper shape at last. To read the rest and those reviews check out Metabolist's Site.
Skulltag v0.94b
The Skulltag homepage has released a new version of the Skulltag engine bringing it up to v0.94b. Here are some stuff in this release:- Brand new ANNOUNCER support! You can also create and add your own announcers! (more on that later)
- Two new levels! d2dm3 and d2dm6 (featuring the BFG10k!)
- New weapon! The BFG10K (IT IS NOT WEAK!!!)
- Greatly increased stability on newtork games!
- Support for Internet Doom Explorer! (Doom Connector coming very soon)
- Server map rotation.
- MOTD support! (set sv_motd to your message)
- Now supports playing with *MOST* textured wads (darkening e2, HR2, etc). Some still have a problem.
- The initial sprites for the Super Shotgun Guy (Yes, Skulltag has new *MONSTERS* too!)
- Updated music selections on some maps (they're not all D_RUNNIN anymore!)
- Wadauthor and ZETH configuration files for making maps for Skulltag (see README.TXT for details).
- Minor tweaks to the firing frames of the railgun.

KDX CD
King Doom Experience has announced the release of the KDX CD. This contains 3 CD's of free downloadable level stuff for Doom, Doom II, Heretic and Hexen. Here are some numbers for you to crunch:- Doom : Over 1500 Singleplayer / Deathmatch add ons
- Doom II : Over 5000 Singleplayer / Deathmatch add ons
- Heretic : Over 250 Singleplayer / Deathmatch add ons
- Hexen : Over 150 Singleplayer / Deathmatch add ons
- Music : 46 MP3 Tracks from PSX-(Final)-Doom and Doom64 automatically playing in the background while you frag some monsters. (Done with the KDX DoomAmp Plug-In)
- All the stuff decompressed will consume approximately 5 GB on your HD.
King Elvis has stressed in his email that 'THIS IS NO COMMERCIAL RELEASE. It pretty much represents what my own Doom folder looks like. Please note that I offer the CD's for only the material- and shipping costs + small copying fee'.
Discharge Update
Discharge has updated as promised with another 10 reviews for you. Rellik says he will update in about 4-5 days with however many he manages to get around to playing.
ZD3K Soon
X-Doom has emailed us to say that after 5 years of hard work ZD3K is not far away. There is some final checking and play testing to do beofore the release. The mod itself is rather big and weighs in at 80mb compressed. Check out the X-Doom homepage for screenshots.

Screenshots Galore
Well there are 3 anyway. Over at The Doomers Recess Chris has put up 3 from his Doom Enigma map plus a bonus one from his other level in production for Doom 2.
X-Com DSO
X-Com Deep Space Operations has opened for this new project by Spectre and Jow. There are a number of positions available if anyone is interested. The project is for jDoom and there is a screenie for you to view.
SDA
Opulent's Doomed Speed Demos Archive has another set of demos for you to view from Grazza, Rich Sham, Gene Bird, Varun, Ryback, Andrey Budko and Paul Gilbert. Phew, I think thats all of them. Check them all out at SDA.
Baldy DM
Sarge Baldy's Hardass Doom Reviews has updated with news that he has just finished his first deathmatch level. It has been combined with Danarchy's first DM map for their 'Multiplayer Gaming Machine From Yggdrasil Waiting To Collapse eXplosively' project.
Hellmouht Project
The Hellmouth Project has been updated with news that Electro has joined the team and is eager to get started. Pazza, at Hellcore, has interviewed Heretic about the project and there is also a Deepsea tutorial for optimising your editing environment.
Doomsday Version 1.7.8
This new Doomsday engine release includes bug fixes plus a few new features. Here are the highlights:- A new master server. The old DirectPlay hack has been dropped. If you're upgrading, make sure your cvars are set up as described on the Multiplayer page.
- Various netgame bug fixes. Note that quite a number still remain, but they mostly affect jHexen.
- jDoom (finally) lets you shoot at floors and ceilings with lineattack weapons (pistol, shotguns, chaingun), if you're so inclined...
- Some HUD weapon sprites in jDoom were adjusted: the plasma rifle's shooting frame was all wrong and the muzzle flash of the super shotgun and rocket launcher were slightly out of sync.
- Several jHexen fixes: dedicated server crashing at level change, messages not showing up on clientside, client sometimes crashing at level change, status bar flicker.
Skyjake says that this will probably be the last release for a while as school matters will be taking a priority.
Deathmatch Reviews
Rellik has announced that his new deathmatch review site is now up and running. The 10 reviews already up are a little old now but there are already another 10 reviews done and these will be posted up next week. Rellik is also looking for people to helpout with the reviews. So if you are interested then head over to Discharge.
Simple Doom Launcher
I have recieved an email from Coder telling us about the Simple Doom Launcher. Here is what coder had to say about it: It works for ANY sourceport! It's lean, flexible and comes in a manner like the Doom95 one. You can drag'n drop PWAD stuff, load and save commandline parameter sets. It can also launch and join multiplayer sessions. It is released under GPL, the source is included in the installer, the whole download has only a weight of 600 KB. There is a pic of it and a link to the forum on the Simple Doom Launcher homepage.
Two Reviews
Sarge Baldy's Hardass Doom Reviews has two for you. There is a joke map called Supermarket, which is quite old, and gives you the chance to run down helpless people with a shopping trolley. The second is called What?!which is from 1995 and he says is rather good.
Skulltag v0.94b Release Date Set
Carnevil has announce that Skulltag v0.94b is to be released on 21 of march. There is going to be a party on IRC and there will be more info on this soon.
Hellmouth Update
Team Mamtech have updated their website. More mapping has been done and another level has been secured for starting. If anyone would like to beta test or has any ideas then you can find The Heretic n Doom Connector around 8:00pm GMT.
Doom_Dude Holds Court
The Megawad has news that the final touches on map03: Revenant Court were added a few days ago. Doom_Dude then went straight into map04: Barriers. He has also added a few wads to his Best Of Doom page.
jDoom Server
I saw over at Greenstings that Dekkion is running a JDoom server between 2pm, and 5pm, daily. It does not however say what time zone this is in so if any finds out please let us know. Here is the information.- IP ADDRESS:68.61.169.162

Piper Doom
Piper at the gates of Doom has reported that his Map 18 for the Community Chest project is about 60% completed. All that is left on Dawn: A Prelude? is Final RSS scripting and enemies, Exit map -- Quatto's Palace and Beta testing by Nigel.
Liftll
Sarge Baldy's Hardass Doom Reviews has posted up a review of LIFTLL by Larry Ludwick. He is described by Sarge as 'my hero in bad level design'. So you can guess what you are in for.

Newdoom Community Project Update
Doom_Dude, who is the webpage updater, has let us know that the Newdoom Community Project has updated with the latest information on the project. There are 17 maps listed, with the map-makers' progress, and there are even some finished levels as well.
Remixes For Doom
Derek kindly informed us that over at the Overclocked Remix there are 7 new remixes for Doom and Doom II tunes. Thanks Derek.
Legacy New Stuff And Bots
There have been a lot of changes over at Doom Legacy which are all good. The site has been totally cleaned and updated, there may be new sections on the way. Plus Rellik's 'DOOM Editing Resource' has now been christened 'Legacy Editing Resource'.
The Legacy engine has also had some work done on it as well with MP3 / OGG support and the ACBots have been merged with the CVS. The CVS has been compiled and the bot code modified. You can get the zip file and instructions at Doom Legacy
Get your Skull Connected
Skulltag has updated with this piece of info for all you Doom connector users. Just wanted to give those of you that use Doom Connector a real treat. Deep 11.75
Those people at SB Software have been busy again and have come up with Deep 11.75. Here are the highlights: · Enhanced Import Prefab PWAD. Ctrl+I is the new short cut command. Now you can interactively position the data before dropping it in the level. This allows for even easier unlimited custom PREFABS you can easily draw yourself. · Pasting Tool has improved sector correction. · Change to allow TID changes to multiple Things at one time. · Warning added if level goes over the 64k maximum LineDefs, SideDefs or Vertices. · Additional automatic VAVOOM lump support.. · Change to F7 PWAD tools to modify DeePsea SCRIPT## to SCRIPTS if F5 SCRIPT option is not enabled. This fixes a problem WA had. · Fix to Thing OPT categories to fully use all the extra spare categories available (25 total).. · Fix to error checker caused by huge level support that would quit checking too soon on some errors.. · Fix to hires Flats if they replace existing stock DOOM flats. Solution in prior versions is to not use a name that is already used by DOOM.

BEX Codepointer For Eternity
The Eternity page has been updated with this: The first version of the Eternity Engine Definitive Codepointer Reference, a document that should be invaluable to DeHackEd/BEX patch authors for all BOOM-based or otherwise BEX-compatible source ports, is now available. It is currently only in text format, but like the console command reference, we hope to eventually get an HTML version with full indexing released. Head on over to Eternity for the links.
Sarge Reviews
Sarge Baldy's Hardass Doom Reviews has taken a look at Bloodworks and he describes it as 'an undeniably messy looking map for non-GL ports'. This is meant in a good way though as it is set in a Blood creation plant. Check out the review and then take a look for yourself. Needs a Boom compatible port.
Darkwolf's Dehacked DM
Darkwolf's Doom Page has just added a DM map called 'In the Vicinity of Death'. This map was a wad Darkwolf released for his "Don't Bleed" Dehacked Patch. You download the patch and the map or just the patch my itself.
Chris's Classic Map's
Mr Chris has recently updated and fixed some of his older levels made from 1997 to 1999. These are not port specific so they should work with any port you may care to use. Just click on the links provided HERE.
Kaiser Give Absolution
Dsv 5 and Absolution info has been added at DSV Outworld and can be located in the current projects page. Kaiser has also made a demo wad for Zdoomgl and Jdoom users that demostrates how to implent fake 3d objects. This is available from the downloads page.
Wiles On Recess
The Doomers Recess has updated with news on Chris's maps and 'Recent Update's Classic Map' is from Richard Wiles called crusades.
DC Doom
I emailed BlackAura yesterday to ask what was going on with Dreamcast Doom. It has been a while since the last update and I wondered if the project had died. Here is what he said: I've been working on it a little, and I have a slightly more advanced version on my hard drive at the moment, but I've not been doing a lot of work on it of late. I'm definitely going to do at least one more release, probably more, but possibly not for a few months. We will keep you posted and if you have not been there before then take a look at DC Doom.
Eternity's New Release
Eternity has released v3.31 Public Beta 2. You need to go there and follow the links.
Doom Encyclopedia
Doom Encyclopedia has not died even though they have been quite dormant for the past year. Dr Curween drop in to let us know that the team are more motivated than ever and is working on the new lay out and new content. There is an interview with Ruben Cabrera from 3D Realms which was done last year.
Gates Of Doom
There has been an update over at Piper at the gates of Doom. This is to let us know that a lot of work has been done on Map18 for the Community Chest project. About 40% of the map is completed and been named Sudden Death. There is also news of whats left on Dawn.
Doomsday 1.7.7
Doomsday HQ announces the release of Doomsday 1.7.7. This version has a couple of bug fixes and some minor new features.
The Doomsday Engine has been registered on SourceForge.net. The sources are now released officially under the GNU General Public License. If you're interested in becoming a developer on the project, let Skyjake know.

Skulltag Update
There has been signs of life over at the Skulltag page with news that Kikassassassin has joined back up again, and is working on the BFG10k. There are also some problems that are being worked upon to do with packet loss and some other network problems. Check out the rest at Skulltag's page.

Bridge Over Bloody Waters
Thats the name of my latest release over at DoomarenA. It's a small Deathmatch level with a 3d bridge and water that you can swim in too. I have not mentioned this on my page but it is for legacy only and I have only tried it with the latest version.
XWE
XWE has a small update with a few changes being made to the website and a small example level called escalator has been uploaded.
Building Bridges At DoomarenA
DoomarenA has updated news of a new Deathmatch level called The Bridge. It's a small level and the bridge runs in a figure of 8 configuration. There is a screenshot and hopefully it will be out tomorrow.
