How to use wads with Doom Legacy

I have been watchin the progress of all the ports for years, although legacy always caught my eye more than any other , i played zdoom a long time ago alot when it came out and on the net in the zm and doomserv days ,but then there was legacy on the other hand that was more like what i was looking for ,"something more like the real thing " at that time and still early in development..
time passed and legacy keep its good ol doom playability - not only that but integraded into something even better..
heres a list :
high resolutions, Glide/OpenGL support, mlook with up-and-down shooting,

jumping, translucency, key bindings- any key sevral, 32-player
TCP/IP multiplayer with player-selected names and colors,
skins, true-height sprites and the ability to load

outside WADs while running.= PWADS
supports DOOM , ULT, DOOM ,DOOM2 ,TNT ,EVO ,HERETIC,
also Supports TeamTNT's Boom port and line type definitions for
solid and transparent 3d floors 3d swimmable water ,
colored lighting -full spectrum in gl , 3dlifts ,quake3 like jumppads and
fog -scripting ,TonyD's ACBOT bots..to say the least

i know i left the md2s out but we havnt had a real chance to see them as of yet but it has the support for them..
i know theres lots and lots of stuff i left out but my brains hurt now..
but anyhows ,all that and keeping its classic doom play and feel
legacy is currently in development...

FOR WINDOWS VERSIONS

if your having a problem running legacy :

Legacy wont give you problems unless you have it "configured wrong" or theres something wrong with your system..most cases the part with the quotes

( but FIRST make sure your video card drivers are up to date aswell as your direct x version ! )

i'll throw this on here to make it a little easyer to dig up..
* at the time of this post , legacy version my differ in refrence..

if your having a problem running the game..

I would do it like this ,

download (Doom Legacy) zip -or the latest version publicly available

extract it to a new directory

copy your doom2 wad into that directory

run the launcher.exe - make a shortcut for it and put it on your desktop

click on game mode if it hasn't already put you there

select the Legacy.exe path where it asks for the .EXE =your dir where you extracted the legacy zip..
 

and then select the Doom2 iwad path , = your doom2.wad is in the same directory , select it and ok it.

next in the launcher select setup if you want opengl,glide,etc..

ok it and then click on :launch game

THATS IT !

oh if you want to run a custom wad

from the launcher select single map and add wad , dont forget if the wad was made for doom2 it will only run with doom2 and same goes for ult-doom and all other iwads..

what's the diffrence between an iwad and a pwad ?

IWAD :

an iwad is the main game wad made by iD software that came with your Doom game and  is the iwad legacy uses - doom2.wad ,ult-doom ,final doom , heretic , tnt , evolution ect.

this is needed in game mode where you would setup with the legacy.exe within the launcher..

PWAD:

the pwad is the wad thats  not made by iD software but by map builder or authors also known as a mappers , used is a mapping editor program like wad-author ,deepsea etc..
 

run custom wads = pwads like mymap.wad from the legacy launcher , click "single map",add its location in the field, check the box and ok it..
 

so yea , you wanna run the pwad in single player in the launcher

doom2.exe and pwads

if you want to run a standard pwad with your doom game without using a doomport i.e. legacy/ jdoom/zdoom..

just run it like this and make sure youv already copied the pwad into your doom2 dir.
run at command line for doom2.exe
c:\doom2 doom2.exe -file mymap.wad
