BGPA Missions: Liberation Released

Over on Doom Nexus, ReX took the time to mention a release by Enjay that is called BGPA Missions: Liberation (5 map mini TC) which is designed for GZDoom. This is a 5 level GZdoom mini-conversion made to depict a genuine live action adventure game that took place in the Summer of 2006 near the Scottish towns of Elgin and Burghead. The sequence of events and feel of the level set are very much in keeping with that event but within the limitations of a video game with simple AI versus real-life people. Find out more about the project and get the downgrab over on Doom Nexus.

Ismaele took the time between exams to play and write a review for DJShrimpy's Phobos Reloaded - E1M1.The gameplay is very alike the original, apart from this variation, that actually is very good and gives a longer life to the map, and other minor but nice additons, like a trap with teleporting monsters, another trick and few more switches than the original map. You can find the full review in the reviews section and view the screenshots right here.

Some fellow who calls himself TheRealSceneGraphManager decided to make a GoW-style Blood Spatter mod for Doom 3.The GoW-style Blood Spatter mod is designed to give you the identical blood spatter that is found in Gears of War, and since Doom does a similar thing when you get hit, the developer figured he'd take the ball that ID dropped and run with it. The Dark Mod Super Secret Pre-Beta Demo Coming Soon

Category: DOOM |
So I've been keeping an eye on The Dark Mod site for you know..... news and stuff and there's been nothing on there since like the 18th of November. So I was on that Mod DB place and noticed that the Dark Mod was updated on there instead back on Dec 30th. From what I read on there, they plan on releasing a pre-beta demo with a tentative release date of January 15th. So yeah, if they don't update their site around that time maybe I'll have to look under more internet rocks to find where they hid the news. Oooh here is a quote:Several months ago, TTLG's Fidcal began working on a small mission, called The Thief's Den. We found that it was playable as a real mission. We were so pleased with his work, that we asked him to begin readying it as a playable pre-beta demo. We thought we might release it for Christmas, but as things usually go...this wasn't really attainable...as we wanted to release the best demo we possibly could. Here is the Mod DB Link if you want to read more details n stuff.

Yay ReX is back from flying all over the place! Apparently the Team TNT project, Return From Oblivion is done and all it needs is packaging and ReX was voted most likely to do just that....During my absence, no one at TeamTNT was willing to take over the reins of Return From Oblivion, and although we were done with all mapping and play-testing, the packaging of the wad was left to me to do upon my return (no pun intended). As a result, we did not have a Christmas 2007 release, nor a New Year's Day 2008 release. However, I am back in the saddle, and hope to have the goodies in your hot little hands real soon. Also ReX says he has worked on Paranoid and he also started a new map in December. Read more about what ReX has to say over on Doom Nexus.

Justin Lloyd released a 32 level megawad that goes by the name Ultimate Doom 2 Project. I became aware of this release after Justin announced the project in a thread on our forum.I spent quite a few years working on it (over a decade of off and on work actually) and it's finally done. I tried to make it very reminiscent of the original Doom and Doom 2, so there aren't any sprite conversions or anything like that. Just a few new textures that I put together, and 32 new and original levels all designed by myself. So if you check out the megawad and have some feedback, then you can always let him know about it in the thread provided.....

The Outpost Of Doom II was updated by Ismaele with the news that he did up a review for a level called Cheogsh by Shadowman and KoLoBoK. According to what I read, Shadowman finished the map after KoLoBoK passed away and the finished map is dedicated to his memory. Also theres some Italian Doom Episode Two news..... seems that Buzzbomber is missing and Ismaele n' Toranaga are considering releasing thier portions of the project separately... but not right away. So, if we don't receive any news from Buzzbomber before September 2008, we'll decide what to do with our levels: to release them separately or as part of the old project, maybe with another name. So hit the Outpost Of Doom II for more info and stuff.
